Styling Notes

Making the bed — For a cottage finish, lay the Festonné flat and smooth the stitched surface before placing the shams. The scalloped edge reads best when the quilt is centred on the bed and the curved border falls evenly on both sides. Allow the scalloped edge to drape naturally over the sides of the mattress — do not tuck the scalloped border under the mattress. Position the two king shams at the head of the bed, smooth and plump, with well-filled sham inserts to maintain the shape.
